ESLint Support on bitHound

One of the most common questions we get is when ESLint support will come to bitHound. Well, today we are thrilled to announce bitHound's support for your projects using ESLint.

bitHound's support for ESLint will honour and include any custom modules that you might run or rule sets specified in any of your .eslintrc files.

With that in mind, there are a few additional considerations when it comes to ESLint support on bitHound.

Firstly, we do not support eslint.json. If you are using eslint.json, we recommend converting your .json file to a .eslintrc file and then run it through bitHound.

Secondly, everything that is an eslint rule, or a rule that you have specified will show up as lint in bitHound.

Thirdly, ESLint can be used towards all of your JSX Files.

When it comes to ES6 and ES7, we would advise you to consider going the custom modules route. If you're not sure how, this article provides a great outline on how to go about it.

If you use JSX, ES6 or ES7, we would strongly recommend the adoption of ESLint.
